1. Browser
You'll need at least Netscape Navigator 7.x or higher and Internet Explorer 6.x or higher to use Helmke Library's Information Literacy Tool Kits. Click here to download latest version of Netscape or Internet Explorer. If your browser is lower than 4.0, you'll need to download a higher (free) version from the site.

2. Plug-ins
To experience all the visual effects, you'll need the Shockwave Flash plug-in, a free application that enhances your browser and makes these tutorials interactive. If you can see the computer animation below, you already have the plug-in.

If you can't see anything, visit the Macromedia Flash Player site and follow their downloading directions. Otherwise, you can click on "Non-Flash Version" whenever you get to a Flash page.

3. Pop-up blockers
The Information Literacy Tool Kits use pop-up windows. If your browser or computer has pop-up blocking software, please disable it while you are viewing the Tool Kits.

The Information Literacy Tool Kits will still function if your computer is using a pop-up blocker, but its interactivity is diminished without the pop-up windows.
